SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team at LIO Insurance. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and analyzing data to support business operations, decision-making, and strategic planning. Your work will directly contribute to the optimization of our processes and the enhancement of our overall performance.

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role within the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in data analysis, data governance, master data management, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of property and casualty insurance operations, claims management, underwriting, and related data structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw meaningful insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, data privacy, and security standards related to the insurance industry.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience in maintaining data dictionaries and creating clear data flow diagrams.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate insights effectively.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related discipline.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data related to property and casualty insurance operations, claims, underwriting, and customer information using tools such as SQL, Python, or Excel.
  • Identify and communicate insights, trends, and anomalies in the data to help guide business decisions.
  • Create and maintain standard reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and assess business performance.
  • Data Quality Assurance:
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Perform data validation, quality checks, and data cleansing (e.g., outlier detection, consistency checks) as needed to maintain high data quality standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
  • Data Insights and Recommendations:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.
  • Develop ad-hoc analysis and reports to support various departments, including marketing, underwriting, claims, and finance.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data findings to drive process improvements and business growth.
  • Data Documentation:
  • Maintain data dictionaries, data lineage, and metadata to ensure accurate documentation and data transparency.
  • Assist in the documentation of data sources, data transformations, and data flow diagrams.
