POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst is instrumental in driving goals and enhancing data analytics and visualization capabilities within the Finance Shared Services team. The role will work closely with collaborators to understand the business requirements and develop analytics, automated solutions, and visualizations that support data-informed decision-making. The Data Analyst will play a key role in process, system and reporting improvements, and will work with stakeholders across the business to drive effectiveness, efficiency, and transparency.
Report Development: You will. SMART utilizes Power BI, Python, and R for our various analytics. There are also some in system reports that are developed as well. We are always expanding our data science and analytics knowledge, to ensure we can meet goals in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a similar information technology field
  • Proven experience (minimum 2+ years) in data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role
  • Strong expertise in data management, data mining, data analysis, data visualization, and process development.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and query optimization.
  • Strong experience with Power BI, Power Automate, and Excel
  • Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • An ability to effectively tell a story through data and clearly communicate findings for a non-technical audience.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Self-starter, analytical and critical thinker who is not intimidated by complex problems, large datasets, and new tools.

Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Lead advisor for insights, analytics, and reporting.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process and digital automation.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop performance measurement frameworks to monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.

Analysis and Reporting

  • Build easy to digest reports and other analytics outputs.
  • Improve management of existing data, data analysis and visualizations.
  • Automate existing Excel reports and presentations.
  • Analyze high volumes of transactional data to drive insights while providing regular and ad hoc strategic reporting and analysis to key partners and stakeholders.
  • Transform and synthesize raw data using data visualizations and dashboards tailored to the audience/user; tell a narrative around the data to highlight insights, synthesize conclusions, and ultimately drive actionable business insights.

Process and Systems

  • Collaborate with IT to ensure data integrity and facilitate seamless integration of analytics solutions into existing systems and processes.

Leadership

  • Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous learning within the organization.
