JOB SUMMARY

The Data Analyst Specialist role is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting unit-related data for the assigned departments. The position will require technical expertise in data quality and integrity processes, data analysis (including descriptive and predictive analytics), data visualization (e.g., interactive dashboards), and data storytelling (narrative communication skills). Data outcomes should help to inform the unit’s colleagues and Institute constituents to make enhanced data-driven decisions and continuously improve programs and services. Proficiency in disaggregating data to support the identification of and amelioration of educational equity gaps, health disparities, and other differentiated student outcomes based on student attributes such as gender, race/ethnicity, disability, and others is essential.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Research Methodology, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Zero - two years of job-related experience

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
SAS, certifications, or other data-related skills
Proficient in using Excel, Tableau, Qualtrics, SPSS, Power BI, Python, R etc.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Application of specialized skills within a university or government agency environment

SKILLS

o Proficient in using Excel, Tableau, Qualtrics, SPSS, Power BI, Python, R etc.
o Demonstrated working knowledge of statistical software. This job requires knowledge of
data analysis, including the nature of the data to be analyzed, the relation of the data to the GT
population, and the ability to employ predictive analytics to anticipate future trends and/or needs.
