Data Analyst - SQL and Python

Randstad Data is currently seeking a fantastic Data Analyst to join a high-performing Utilities organisation based in Brisbane’s North. Working within a large program, this role sits within the flagship project replacing an existing Energy Management System (EMS) with an Advanced Energy Management System (AEMS).
This will provide the business with a generational leap towards a modern and contemporary network operations capability that uses best-practice technologies, processes and skills to drive efficiencies and performance.
About the role:
Work closely with the Data Lead and delivery team to develop and embed appropriate data frameworks, strategy, plans and activities to support the introduction of a new Energy Management System. This role is critical to ensure that the solution delivered has data accuracy to support end to end business usage of the solution to the standards of key stakeholders.
This role will work within the nominated project to ensure data availability and integrity to support the new solution functioning effectively and efficiently.
Skills include complex SQL and python.
Core responsibilities:

Source Data Ingestion Strategy Development

• Develop and implement strategies for the ingestion of source data ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
• Established source data ingestion strategies that are documented and implemented, covering all identified sources in the data scope.

Data Validation and Quality Assurance

• Perform data analysis and validation tasks to ensure the quality and integrity of data ingested from various sources, including automated and manual processes.
• Regular reports on data quality metrics, issues identified, and corrective actions taken.

Deliverable: Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

• Act as a key contact between the data team and SMEs ensuring that data management practices align with SME recommendations and project requirements.
• Effective communication channels established with SMEs with regular updates and reports on data management progress and challenges.

Data Scope Management

• Collaborate with SMEs to integrate a wide range of data points, including SCADA points ensuring data sources are accurately ingested and utilized within the EMS.
• Effective communication channels established with SMEs with regular updates and reports on data management progress and challenges.

Technical Documentation

• Develop comprehensive technical documentation for Source and Target data catalog, Design Intent, Governance rule and Metadata
• User-friendly documentation that facilitates the understanding and adoption of data management practices and systems.

Data Governance

• Oversee AEMS data governance framework and ensure that data management practices adhere to the standards and internal policies.
• Implementation of AEMS data governance framework that addresses compliance and data security.
