Position Title. Data Analyst

TECHNICAL AND INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive experience in mining, mining operations, or heavy industry preferred.
  • Proficient in Azure Data Factory/Synapse Analytics
  • Advanced SQL ‘hands on’ knowledge
  • Knowledgeable in ETL Process (Data Ingestion, Transformation, Cleansing, Error Handling)
  • Familiarity with Data Modeling and Database Design
  • Familiarity in DevOps practices (Github, ADO)
  • Familiarity with Azure Security Features
  • Familiarity with Python and Scala Programming
  • Experience implementing data integration solution in a Mining Operation is preferred.
  • Experience in the deployment and operations of autonomous solutions in the mining industry preferred

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:

The Data Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing data solutions on the various platforms including Azure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ingesting data from various On-prem or Cloud sources such as databases, files and APIs into Azure using Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Performing data transformation and processing tasks to prepare the data for analysis and reporting
  • Collaborating with Data Architects to design and implement data models and maintain data architecture to support data analytics and business intelligence reporting.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and translating them into technical requirements
  • Ensuring Data Quality compliance by implementing data cleansing, transformation, and monitoring processes. Troubleshooting data-related issues within the Azure environment to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Automating data pipelines (DevOps), monitoring data processes and managing deployments
  • Keeping abreast of the latest Azure features and technologies to enhance data engineering processes and capabilities.
  • Providing support for data governance, including metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging.
