Description:
SUMMARY
The Britton Lab is investigating the impact of human gut microbiome on infant health. Using animal models, the Britton Lab has demonstrated that fecal microbial transplants from infants can transfer infant phenotypes into animals. The Lab is applying computational approaches to discern which microbes and microbial products are responsible for transferring infant phenotypes to animals. For this project, we are looking for an experienced Data Analyst Associate to contribute to the analysis and modeling of human, animal, and microbial data sets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5 years of relevant research experience
- Strong data analysis skills including exploratory data analysis, statistical testing and machine learning.
- Experience with bash and scientific programming using Python, R, or Julia.
- Experience in microbiome analysis and metabolic modeling.
- Experience in integrating multi-omics datasets.
- Organization and communication skills to work within a larger research group.

Responsibilities:
- Designs and implements procedures for data collection, data management, and data sharing.
- Analyzes genomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics data using standard bioinformatic tools.
- Analyzes biological data using appropriate statistical techniques.
- Creates novel analytical tools as required by research goals.
- Prepares high quality documentation and reports.
- Assists in publication and dissemination of results.
