THE DEPARTMENT

The mission of the Data & Analytics Department is to maximize the value of Aritzia’s data by making it available, insightful and actionable to foster a culture of data-driven decision making.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Lead, Advanced Analytics has:

  • Proven and best-in-class skills, education and/or applicable certifications in:
  • Analyzing and interpreting data with fluency in SQL, statistical programming languages such as R or Python and visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau or Looker
  • Predicting outcomes leveraging Machine Learning algorithms such as linear/logistic regressions, decision trees, random forest, etc
  • Applying traditional and advanced analytics techniques in support of use cases such as demand forecasting and pricing optimization
  • Analytics in the worlds of Retail, Merchandise Planning/Buying or Supply Chain
  • Providing technical leadership to Data Analysts with mentorship, training documentation and peer review
  • A commitment to learn, apply, champion and enrich Aritzia’s Values and Business and People Leadership principles
  • The skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of operational efficiency, continuous growth, and shared business outcomes
  • The ability to set clear objectives and champion data-informed decisions within eCommerce and Performance Marketing teams

THE COMPENSATION

The typical hiring range for this position is $140,000–$150,000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Additionally, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.

Responsibilities:

As the Lead, Advanced Analytics, you will:

  • Lead out on the build of the Advanced Analytics capability in support of Aritzia’s Product division
  • Tackle Advanced Analytics use cases related to the Planning, Buying, Allocation and Distribution of > $2b finished goods every year such as demand forecasting and optimization of purchasing quantities, availability and pricing
  • Develop insights to support these use cases including:
  • Descriptive insights to understand what has happened and why. Creating new metrics, measurement plans and A/B experiments to track the success and opportunities of key initiatives. Performing trend analysis, pattern discovery and statistical analysis.
  • Predictive insights to understand what is likely to happen and when. Using advanced analytics techniques such as scenario analysis, rule-based modeling, and AI/Machine Learning
  • Prescriptive insights to recommend what is most optimal to do to influence events. Taking into account all possible factors in a scenario and suggesting actionable takeaways to human and system decision makers
  • Maximize the value of insights through effective storytelling, influence stakeholders to take action and measure the impact of these actions
  • Work with the appropriate stakeholders, team members and Business Support partners to drive data-informed decisions in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience
  • Provide technical leadership to elevate the analytics acumen amongst the team and stakeholders
