The Channel Insight team act as a centre of excellence for digital insight within BCB, and we utilise our analytical knowledge, numeric reasoning and experience to convert data into actionable executive decisions to develop and commercialise the business.
What exactly will I focus on?
You’ll be extracting, segmenting, and analysing data. Building out the insight recommendations through numeric reasoning that helps deliver the digital strategy. Using several different tools predominantly SQL to access data within our data warehouses.
You’ll provide the insight to improve our channel journeys, giving our customers a better choice of channel to best meet their need.
Within Channel Insights we play a pivotal role in providing action orientated insight, which is critical in driving the strategy of channel migration to digital and marketing led channels.
Your ability to collaborate with others, generate insight, convert into recommendations and present to a senior audience, will really set you up to succeed!

Examples of specific activities you could be responsible for;

  • Regular performance tracking to enable effective management of the digital channel, extracting data to measure performance, with ad hoc analysis produced when required to diagnose causes of performance instability
  • Utilise insight to identify further opportunities to optimise client experience
  • Work with the wider Channels team to understand change agenda, and produce analysis to measure the impact of optimisation activity – including forecasting impacts on overall performance
  • Support delivery of key Group strategic objective to grow BCB digital channels

What we’re looking for;

We’d welcome applicants from diverse cultural, and technological backgrounds and believe this is critical to success. This is a role in a niche area, so as a minimum to be considered for shortlisting we need to see evidence of the following in your CV;

  • Must have - Prior history as a data warehouse specialist or data analyst, data engineer, marketing specialists or related analysis role, at mid to senior level. You’ll need to hit the ground running!
  • You’ll have some analysis experience using a complex and large relational database (e.g. Teradata or Hadoop or something of similar scale etc.).
  • Intermediate scripting or programming skill for data extraction using a tool such as SQL OR SAS OR Python (any of these three, not all of them!)
  • We’d also love to see your track record in using data and insight to influence analytics to develop practical insight and confidence in telling stories through data. Good presentation skills are a must.
  • Any background in digital marketing would be helpful, but not essential.
