Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for leading and building the data and analytics function for Superdrug and Savers, with a key focus on business partnering, business intelligence delivery, and team leadership.
You will work primarily with the Finance department and then other business units to understand their data and reporting needs, provide insights, and drive data-driven decision making.
You will create and execute a data and analytics strategy that leverages multiple data sources, platforms, and tools, including Microsoft Azure and Power BI.
You will manage a team of Power BI developers and data engineers, and foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation.
Key Focus Areas
Business Partnering: You will act as a trusted advisor to the Finance department and other business units, understanding their data requirements, challenges, and opportunities. You will communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, run the Power BI Steering Group and deliver timely and relevant data solutions that meet the business needs.
Business Intelligence Strategy & Delivery: You will create and implement a data and analytics strategy that aligns with the organisation’s vision and goals. You will oversee the design, development, and deployment of data pipelines, data models, dashboards, and reports, using best practices and standards. You will ensure the quality, accuracy, and security of the data and analytics products, and monitor their performance and usage.
Team Leadership: You will lead, develop and grow a small, efficient team of Power BI developers and data engineers, ensuring they have the skills, tools, and resources to deliver high-quality data and analytics solutions. You will also promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team and across the organisation.
Required Skills and Experience
Extensive experience in data and analytics, with a proven track record of delivering business value through data solutions.
Significant experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or data engineering, with a focus on Microsoft Power BI.
Successful history of managing and leading a data and analytics team, with strong people management and leadership skills.
Strong knowledge of data architecture, data engineering, data modelling, data visualisation, and data governance principles and practices.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data and analytics concepts into business language.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle ambiguity and uncertainty.
Proficient in Power BI development tools, such as Python, Power Query, DAX, M, and Power BI Service.
Strong knowledge of data engineering concepts and techniques, such as data modelling, data warehousing, ETL, and data pipelines.
Experience in working with various data sources and formats, such as SQL, NoSQL, Excel, CSV, JSON, XML, etc.
Experience in integrating Power BI with products, such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, SQL Server, SharePoint, Teams and Databricks, etc.
Experience in implementing data security and governance solutions, such as row-level security, data classification, data masking, etc.
Experience turning Machine Learning (ML) into an API would be a benefit.
A certification in Microsoft Power BI or other relevant credentials is a plus.
