Position Description

We offer individually tailored service and maintenance contracts maximizing resilience, uptime and system efficiency with 24/7 365-day support by qualified, highly skilled air conditioning engineers.
Due to continued growth, we have opportunities for Service Technicians based in the Northern Virginia Area to repair and maintain Airedale equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all repair and maintenance work to Airedale and other manufacturers’ refrigeration and air conditioning equipment to a high standard of accuracy
  • Project Work - from time to time the role will require the on site assembly of units delivered in a modular formats. This will require mechanical, electrical and refrigeration knowledge.
  • Work and liaise closely with customers
  • Submit paperwork in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Report day to day activity to the Service Team Leader to ensure availability and productivity
  • Liaison with other Service Support Engineers to ensure works are completed on time.
  • Submit site reports within prescribed timeframe
  • Submit expenses paperwork and timesheets within prescribed timeframe
  • Act in a professional manner towards customers to promote company image at all times.
  • Follow health and safety policies and procedures at Airedale and at customer sites
  • Maintain an excellent attendance record
  • Able to work outside of normal office hours on a regular basis including weekends
  • Chillers - experience of service, maintenance and repair of chillers and chiller systems
  • Close Controls system - Ability to work through controls systems for Diagnosis of faults, service and repairs
  • Experience of working within data centres/business critical environments.
  • Strong electrical experience with the ability to read detailed electrical schematics to diagnose faults accurately.
  • A/C Refrigeration knowledge - be able to measure and understand superheats/sub-cooling/pressures and temperatures.
  • Knowledge of different compressor technologies would be an advantage - Screw, Scroll, Turbocor.
  • Experience with different refrigerants would be an advantage - R410A, R134a, R32, R1234ze.
  • Controls navigation knowledge - Carel
  • Practical Skills - Mechanical Assembly/ Brazing Experience
  • Organised, with a proactive positive personality, and an ability to self-manage.
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Computer literate PC knowledge - general skills in Microsoft office
  • Excellent customer service/facing skills
  • Problem solving skills

Required Education & Qualifications

  • A two year technical degree in HVAC or related discipline preferred (Substantial technical experience may substitute for a degree)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of product reliability or service experience required
  • Must have the ability to diplomatically resolve problems and project the appropriate company image while interacting with customers
  • EPA Type II Certification required (Universal EPA preferred)
  • Applicable HVAC license preferred
