We are looking to hire a Data Centre Operations Specialist in Singapore to support our client, a top global investment bank. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of data center infrastructure. They will ensure reliability, safety, security, and efficiency of data center operations while adhering to industry standards and best practices as well as regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, and/or engineering field
  • At least 3-5 years of data center experience
  • Strong understanding of data center technologies as well as network and computing technologies
  • Past experience on data center design, gathering of requirements to work on planning layout/design
  • Data Centre M&E experience / knowledge
  • Familiar with data center management tools and software
  • Excellence problem solving, analytical skills and ability work effectively under pressure in highly regulated environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability collaborate effectively with partner teams and vendors
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation and response to data center emergencies

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Data Center, network, and server hardware certifications

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, configuring, and implementing data center infrastructure components such as structured cabling, open frame, PDUs, patch panels and power cabling work.
  • Installing and provisioning hardware and software systems in the data center environment.
  • Performing regular maintenance tasks such as power, cooling and cabling maintenance activities.
  • Monitoring data center performance and capacity utilization, and proactively identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to understand and meet incoming demand for space, power, and cooling. Plan data center capacity and drive regional strategy in growth and de-risk.
  • Manage data center security measures, including access controls, environment monitoring and surveillance systems.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the deployment and operation of new services and applications in the data center.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and diagrams. Provide support to management reporting and audit responses from internal control teams and regulators.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolving data center related issues escalated by other teams
