MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of judgment and to work independently with elected leaders in complex political and local union situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound independent judgment with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to meet goals

At least three (3) years of political, issue or union internal and external organizing campaigns experience and at least one (1) year experience in statistics or data analysis or, a combination of education and experience that would provide for the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Salesforce CRM (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Pardot)
  • Proven experience in driving outcomes on political, internal, and/or external organizing campaigns using data
  • Proficiency in SQL and or Access to securely interface MSSQL Server environment. Python, R, or comparable programming software preferred.
  • Knowledge of labor unions and how local unions operate
  • Knowledge of local union dues and member tracking systems
  • Ability to work with both technical staff and internal organizing staff
  • Expert knowledge of databases (e.g. Voter Activation Network - VAN and Catalist).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in politically sensitive situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple sensitive assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Ability to analyze data and make sound, logical conclusions.
  • Knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Generalized Linear Models, Machine Learning, Linear Regression
  • Ability to look beyond the standard solutions.
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.

    Salary Range $108,733.93 to $114,238.59

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:

The Data Coordinator will work to build out and improve our member data systems and analytics to meet the needs of our field, communications and political programs, support innovation, and improve field outcomes. This position is responsible for processing and analyzing the full scope of member and political data, and incorporating various data tools and methodologies with a primary emphasis in Salesforce as the system of record. You will play a key role in expanding our IT Department function around data analytics, including bridging the gap between field and data analytics, working with field and data colleagues on developing and implementing best practices and approaches, coordinating data projects at a hands-on level, and providing strategic guidance to the Deputy Director of IT, Director of IT and senior Field Directors on all things data. The Data Coordinator is a supervisory position, and as such includes staff management and development as part of its core functions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach, supervise, assign, and evaluate team of staff including developing individual work plans and overseeing their implementation and evaluation.
  • Build high performing teams, including development, accountability and oversight of personnel functions of the team - recruitment, interviews and staff hiring; staff schedules, approvals for time off, assignments.
  • Demonstrate and lead on behaviors in line with SEIU Local 2015 Core values: leadership, compassion, empowerment, accountability, transparency and excellence.
  • Develops and maintains strategy on establishing data warehousing for disparate data repositories currently engaged by the Local.
  • Proactively stays current on data management and best practices through interaction with partners and vendors.
  • Works in concert with SEIU 2015 department staff to enhance the current Salesforce adoption, and design and develop systems that help track campaign and member engagement targets.
  • Manage field data reports within Salesforce, and utilize Salesforce tools like Flow, Report Builder to manage organizational data initiatives
  • Compiles data from the field and integrates it with internal and external data sources in order to provide enhanced analysis of organizing efforts and results.
  • Works in coordination with the IT Director, Field Directors and contractors to build out needed data and analytics capacity.
  • Utilize member data patterns to suggest campaign strategies and support outcomes.
  • Utilize Pardot to consolidate digital member outreach efforts, and track within Campaign Events
  • Manages multi-node SQL Server environment in both a virtualized and physical environment.
  • Imports and exports files between formats and programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL, delimited text files, and a variety of other file formats, including utilizing e-mail and web-based applications as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the data work of the department, and SEIU 2015’s various departments and campaigns.
