Description:

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing data sets from multiple sources
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Experience operating large data warehouses
  • Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent
    Are you looking for the opportunity to have a major impact on cutting edge technology used by millions of people every day? The Deals Experience (DealsX) team is looking for a Data Engineer to work on our worldwide features that help Amazon customers find great deals on great products.
    Amazon Deals are an integral part of the Amazon shopping experience, responsible for a multi-billion-dollar business. We are a key element of events like Prime Day or Black Friday. Hundreds of millions of customers use our features. We partner with teams throughout the Amazon ecosystem to optimize deal ingestion, enhance classification and ranking of deals, expand deal discovery throughout the site, and to raise the bar for the best customer experience on mobile app, web, desktop.
    As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure for reporting, analytics and MLOps. You will be responsible for ensuring that data is accessible, reliable, and ready for analysis by our data scientists and analysts and Data Scientists. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement data pipelines, ETL processes, data modeling, and best practices. Your work will directly impact our ability to make data-driven decisions and drive the success of our business.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes for reporting, analytics and MLOps.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts to understand requirements.
  • Build and maintain scalable data storage and retrieval solutions following Data Engineering best practices.
  • Optimize and fine-tune database performance.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency through data validation and cleansing.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure to minimize downtime.
  • Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and MLOps.
