Huhtamaki is on a journey towards becoming a data savvy organization, and we have launched several initiatives to carry us towards a digital future. We have been building a centralized data platform in Azure with our partners for some time and we are now enhancing our internal technical capabilities to develop the platform further – that’s where you come in.
As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing integration solutions that cater for our rapidly growing data needs. Huhtamaki’s application landscape is wide in terms of technology and geographical location, meaning you will come across technologies and situations that you haven’t encountered before, therefore, versatility and the ability to learn is of utmost importance here.
The data platform is new and shiny, as are some parts of our source system landscape with the likes of Salesforce and cloud ERPs. On the other hand, there are also legacy systems that are a part of the assortment which you will also need to work with. To be successful in this role, you should have experience in building and maintaining large-scale data platforms using modern data engineering technologies and frameworks. You should be proficient in SQL, Python, and other programming languages commonly used in data engineering.

KEY EXPERIENCE & SUCCESS FACTORS:

• Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in working with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, for developing and deploying integration solutions.

• Data Quality and Governance: Understanding of data quality assessment, data profiling, and data governance practices.

• Data Transformation and Mapping: Ability to transform and map data between different formats and structures using tools like XSLT, JSON, XML, or scripting languages.
• Programming Languages: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, DAX, Java, or C#.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders, business users, and technical teams. The ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms and collaborate effectively in a global and cross-functional environment.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Ability to identify and resolve data integration issues, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems. Proficiency in troubleshooting tools and techniques for diagnosing integration-related problems.
• Database Systems: Proficiency in working with database systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server or other relational databases, for data storage, retrieval, and optimization.
• Continuous Learning: A proactive approach to staying updated with the latest advancements in data integration technologies, industry trends, and emerging tools.
