Data Engineer - What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Analytics Engineer to temporarily join our Tech team on a six month fixed term contract. You will be part of a growing and ambitious team with responsibility for making sure that both our drivers and customers are happy.
As a Data Engineer, you will work across projects and functions, helping to solve advanced questions and steer the business to data-based decision making through technical insights. This role will be fast-paced and needs a self-starter who can manage their own workload and shift priorities day to day.
Data Engineer - What Youll Be Doing:
Responsible for efficiently and securely ingesting data into Amazon Redshift, ensuring the data is correctly formatted, transformed, and loaded into the data warehouse. This includes developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes to facilitate the timely and accurate transfer of data into Redshift.
Create, design, and develop data models and report views in AWS Redshift that can be analysed effectively in Redshift and Power BI.
Set up, configure, administer, and troubleshoot in AWS Redshift.
Conduct UAT of new data pipelines, validating and analysing results to ensure data integrity and usability.
Monitor daily loads and support the Dev Ops/Data Analysts on any issues, failures and resolving with system owners.
Develop and implement dashboards and data visualisations to showcase analytics and insight, using Power BI.
Support business users in their understanding of data available, produce ERDs, data dictionaries, document known issues and contribute to resolving them.
Data Engineer - What Skills Do You Need to Succeed:
In-depth knowledge of SQL.
Proficiency in data warehousing (AWS Redshift or similar) and data modelling, involving the design and enhancement of data structures to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
Experience with visualisation tools such as Tableau / Power BI.
You will be tenacious and committed to producing results with the ability to persevere with a challenge and see it through to the end.
