Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Data Engineer, you will play an integral role in building, supporting, and optimising our client’s data systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing the data platform, managing data quality, building data pipelines, delivering insights, creating clear presentations for various audiences, implementing the company’s data governance framework, staying updated on industry trends, seeking new data sources, and engaging with third-party vendors. This role requires strong collaboration skills as you will be working closely with IT and other business units.

  • Develop and maintain the data platform, ensuring efficient data collection and transformation processes
  • Manage data quality, identifying and resolving issues in collaboration with data owners and stewards
  • Build data pipelines, deliver ad-hoc insights, and analytics to support strategic initiatives
  • Make data accessible and understandable to various audiences, using visualisations and clear presentations
  • Implement and adhere to the company’s data governance framework and quality practices
  • Stay updated on industry trends, seek new data sources, and engage with third-party vendors as needed

The ideal candidate for this Data Engineer role will bring at least five years of experience in a similar role along with a tertiary qualification in computer science or a numeric discipline. Key skills include experience in building data pipelines, proficiency in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI, strong SQL and Python skills. A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team are also essential for success in this role.
