About the role
As a Data Engineer, you will design, construct, and maintain our data infrastructure, including developing and implementing data pipelines, integrating diverse data sources, and creating storage solutions. The role sits within the ITSS team and works across functional departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure data solutions which support VMCH’s digital transformation objectives and compliance requirements.
Your experience
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology and experience with the following:
Microsoft platforms such as Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Functions, Data Lake and Power Platform tools.
Design and implementation of data lake solutions, preferably in Microsoft Fabric.
Strong understanding of SQL Server Analytics Services (SSAS) and Azure Analytics Services.
Data engineering concepts, methodologies, and best practices, such as data modelling, data pipelines, data quality, data governance, data security, and data privacy.
Various data sources and formats, such as structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, SQL, JSON, XML, etc.
Data analysis and visualisation tools, such as Power BI.

A strong team player, you display a collaborative approach when working with cross-functional teams.
You are an analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and a commonsense approach to solving problems and finding solutions.
