Description:

ABOUT US

At Prenuvo, we are on a mission to flip the paradigm from reactive “sick-care” to proactive health care. Our award-winning whole body scan is fast (under 1 hour), safe (MRI has no ionizing radiation), and non-invasive (no contrast). Our unique integrated stack of optimized hardware, software, and increasingly AI, coupled with the patient-centric experience of our clinics across North America, have allowed us to lead the charge against “we caught it too late again."Prenuvo operates preventative screening clinics in Vancouver, Silicon Valley, Dallas, Boca Raton, Bethesda, Minneapolis, Atlanta and Los Angeles. New York City and Chicago will be opening soon! Boston, Seattle, and Washington DC will be opening later this year.
We are looking for a Data Engineering Leader to drive all things data. You will apply your passion for large complex systems to design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure and production environments.
Join us as we transform healthcare with next generation radiology and clinical operations powered by novel software, automation, data, and AI. We’re breaking new ground, leading the charge into a future where healthcare is agile, responsive, and more accessible. If you’re passionate about shaping the future of healthcare, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead by doing! Directly design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure and production environments while recruiting and building a team of outstanding data engineers
  • Design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient processing of large volumes of data in production environments
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to track the performance, health, and reliability of our data infrastructure and pipelines, and proactively identify and address issues or anomalies
  • Optimize and tune our data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability, leveraging technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop to handle big data workloads
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes, and maintaining documentation and lineage tracking for all data flows
  • Design, enable and maintain support for deep business and R&D introspection into our data without impacting production performance, privacy or security
  • Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in data engineering and contribute to guide the evolution of our data technology stack
  • Mentor and coach our junior data engineers, sharing your expertise and best practices to help them grow their skills

    What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining very large data infrastructure and pipelines in production environments
  • 5+ years of experience in team leading and managing strong data engineers
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with data engineering tools and frameworks
  • Proficiency and knowledge of different modern databases like Postgres and DynamoDB
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with data storage and processing services such as S3, BigQuery, or Redshift
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Contributions to open-source projects, participation in tech communities, or attendance at conferences/meetups
