LSEG Post Trade supports our customers’ clearing and reporting obligations, providing risk, balance sheet and financial resource management solutions, while working with our other divisions to extend this support across the value chain. The Data Governance Specialist Lead will sit within the Chief Data Office, but will also partner closely with the Privacy Office (PO) to coordinate the privacy landscape, ensuring that the division implements its privacy obligations and demonstrates accountability and compliance with Policy.
The role reports to the Chief Data Officer, and is based at the LSEG office in London. The role aligns to the LSEG hybrid working policy, requiring 3 days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Support the PO on all data privacy matters, and assist in resolving any privacy-related issues.
  • Assist with review of policy, standards and controls to ensure that they remain relevant to the processing carried out by the Division.
  • Implementation and ongoing assessment of the Group privacy framework, and agreed controls, across the Division.
  • Build partnerships with the PO, data, legal, compliance, and information security functions to promote privacy compliance, and embed efficient processes and procedures.
  • Help respond to data subject access requests.
  • Coordinate the records of processing activities (RoPA) requirements, and maintain a Division RoPA register.
  • Help complete Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and ensure a PIA register is actively maintained.
  • Embed Privacy by Design requirements.
  • Support the Risk and Controls Assessments (RCAs), recording privacy risks in the risk register, along with remediation actions.
  • Supervise the mitigation of identified risk actions.
  • Help provide guidance on data breach notification obligations, and actions, to the Division, including assisting with data incident management where privacy issues have occurred.
  • Assist the PO implement the training agenda, in support of the broader Privacy Programme.
  • Produce and provide LSEG Privacy Policy compliance status reports, and related management information.

Essential experience and skills required:

  • Good understanding of global privacy and data protection laws, with an in-depth understanding of GDPR and UK GDPR.
  • Experience of developing and implementing privacy processes.
  • Experience of setting up privacy governance framework within the business.
  • Experience handling third party privacy risk assessments.
  • Operational experience of data protection procedures, including impact assessments, data subject requests, and breach management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Project management experience desirable.
  • Experience of OneTrust desirable.
  • Experience of MetricStream desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPP desirable.
  • Open to adopting new processes / approaches / ways of working.
  • Proactively identifies ways to improve products and/or services and procedures resulting in increased revenues, product/procedure improvements and/or cost reduction.
  • Shares information across teams, departments and functions and actively seeks information and input from colleagues and clients.
