Position: Data I/O Supervisor

Location: Vancouver, BC – Onsite

  • Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00 CAD hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Data I/O Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing all work performed by the reporting data technicians, defining best practices with respect to all data related tasks, communicating with production staff and advising on project workflows as needed.

Responsibilities:

The Data I/O Supervisor is responsible for the management of the Data I/O department. They will attend meetings for post, dailies workflows and liaise with clients, as well as approve timesheets & vacation requests for direct reports, perform yearly performance reviews for all department staff, and interview & hire candidates where needed.
The Data I/O Supervisor will provide guidance to team members and nurture a strong, positive, team environment, and advise on the department’s Capex/budget needs. They will work with the studio producers to ensure digital deliverables are delivered on time, act as the point person for the department onsite security audits and innovate and improve department workflows and environments while troubleshooting connectivity & file naming issues.

The Data I/O Supervisor will also be responsible for the following duties:

  • Set up and test new delivery accounts, setup 2FA’s, work with network engineering to open firewalls
  • Archive and back-up data per the company’s policy
  • Ingest & Restore LTO tapes received from outside vendors, report back any issues to the Producer
  • Spot check in-house LTO tapes to ensure data is archived correctly and compatibility with other systems
  • Data Management – continuously monitor working data storage volumes
  • Use a 3 point check system to archive & delete files where required.
  • Write LTO deliverables to client specifications.
  • Setup & Test manual and automated file delivery systems and manage accounts.
  • Provide projections of data storage requirements for current and future projects.
  • Other duties as assigned
