Description:
We’re a local non-profit County Organized Health System (COHS) dedicated to the health of more than 160,000 low-income residents of San Mateo County, including all of its Medi-Cal beneficiaries. The Data Integration Manager leads a distinct unit within the organization that is responsible for data integration efforts to meet organizational needs. This position includes managing a team that includes Health Data Analysts, Web Developers, and IT Automation Engineers, designing effective integration strategies informed by diverse business needs, and working with Microsoft and other technologies. The role also includes integration with vendor solutions and managing vendor relations.
Position overview
- Manage a team of data integration professionals. Foster a collaborative team environment and accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and implementing corrective action steps when necessary; coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Complete performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Define, develop, and implement data integration strategies in alignment with healthcare regulations, standards, and HPSM’s organizational goals.
- Define and execute departmental objectives related to data integration, ensuring alignment with HPSM’s requirements and readiness to adapt to future needs and challenges.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the Administration Provider Services, Health Information Management and Claims Departments to ensure seamless integration of data across various platforms and systems related to healthcare coverage and payment
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations (such as HIPAA), oversee efforts to increase data security, and collaborate across departments on efforts to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and security of integrated data.
- Oversee and manage vendor relations for data integration tools and services, ensuring alignment with healthcare-specific needs and compliance with contract management policies and procedures.
- Manage the integration design, implementation, and maintenance of data from various healthcare-related sources, including claims processing systems, pharmacies, and other relevant platforms, to facilitate coordinated payer functions, informed decision-making, and alignment with regulatory compliance.
- Implement continuous data quality assessment and improvement processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of integrated data.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of data integration processes and tools, implementing improvements as needed.
- Conduct discovery efforts to deeply understand clinical, operational, and technical business requirements and design data integration solutions that align with prioritized needs.
- Work with technologies specific to healthcare data integration, including Microsoft and others, to achieve business requirements and meet organizational goals.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Deep understanding of advanced data integration methods, including API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, and event-driven integration, to support agile and real-time data sharing and analytics within healthcare settings.
- Solid understanding of the role of technologies like AI and machine learning in healthcare, with a focus on practical applications for improving data management and integration processes.
- Expertise in the latest interoperability standards and protocols, such as FHIR R4 and SMART on FHIR apps, to ensure HPSM stays at the forefront of data exchange practices.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, emphasizing data quality, lineage, and lifecycle management across all integration points to maintain high data integrity.
- Ability to lead initiatives that explore and implement innovative data integration solutions, enhancing operational efficiency, member experience, and healthcare outcomes.
- Skill in cultivating a data-centric mindset within teams and across the organization, promoting data literacy and enabling data-driven decision-making at all levels.
- Strong leadership skills with an emphasis on guiding team development and innovation, ensuring team members are continuously growing and contributing to HPSM’s objectives.
- Advanced understanding of security measures and proactive risk assessments, implementing cutting-edge technologies to safeguard sensitive healthcare data.
- Integration of advanced data quality tools and practices, employing algorithms for anomaly detection and automation in data cleansing processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of integrated data.
