The Opportunity
QBE Europe is currently recruiting a data management lead to join a well-established and successful data management team. In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing the data quality and master data management framework and establishing effective processes to ensure data is managed effectively and complies with data related regulations. This role also requires the coordination of group wide reporting, establishing standards, policies, procedures and facilitation across various councils, committees, and divisions. Communications, identification of positive outcomes, and the company-wide elevation of master data management capabilities will be key to success.

Your new role

  • Define data quality and master data management guiding principles, strategy, policies, and roadmap.
  • Drive the global data quality and master data management community to support divisional and group objectives.
  • Act as and provide SME knowledge in the data management space.
  • Develop and support various working groups to support the Ataccama and Tibco EBX implementation and rollout.
  • Act as the Data Management product owner, including Collibra, Ataccama and Tibco EBX platform ownership.
  • Plan, agree and execute communication, training, and transition activities with stakeholders and interlocking initiatives to ensure optimum value is derived and standards are met.
  • Drive data quality agenda, including management of CDEs, DQ rules, measurement, remediation and monitoring.
  • Management of globally centralized master data management content and processes
  • Identify and advocate for opportunities to improve data through changes in processes and systems and engaging in activities that measurably improve the quality of data.
  • Ensure documentation of end-to-end master data governance and management process, agreed to and in compliance with risk and security policies.
  • Monitor and support ongoing improvements at the Group level and coordinate divisional level activities to ensure alignment; provide a central repository of data and metrics definitions for the organization.
  • Lead the development, application and monitoring of master data management processes and checkpoints to manage data effectively.
  • Manage reporting to governance forums, key stakeholders, and management.
  • Define metrics to measure success and monitor progress.

About you

  • Strong Data Quality experience
  • Experience in a master data management environment in a major financial service organization; specific industry experience in a corporate insurance environment.
  • Extensive experience with data matching / merging, validation, survivorship, hierarchy management, data integration and modelling etc. and related policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Tibco EBX, Ataccama, Collibra experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence, and Agile and/or Scrum Product Owner experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships, influencing others, including senior stakeholders and sponsors
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain data governance principles in a complex business environment.
