Description:
DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DATA MIGRATION ARCHITECT
As a Data Migration Architect, you will directly engage with customers with the goal of migrating customer data from a source system to Salesforce CRM. This data will typically include a combination of CPQ (Configure Price Quote), Billing, Sales and Service Cloud information. You will also work with Microsoft SQL Server, DBAmp and various other tools to extract, transform and load data from the source system into Salesforce.
- Conduct workshops with customers regarding data migration processes and gather requirements
- Define and refine data migration scope on projects, addressing any variances along the way
- Create data migration plans, inclusive of timelines and milestones, in conjunction with customers and project teams to lead to successful closeout of projects based on data requirements
- Create field mapping, maintain user stories and Jira tickets, develop migration scripts, execute migration to test and production environments, and troubleshoot/resolve issues
- Perform detailed review of data from customers, verifying integrity of data, as well as looking for possible errors
- Participate in multiple engagements simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and quality are being met
- Seek efficiencies and standardization in data migration processes
- Manage complex migration projects from beginning to end
- Create a positive customer experience by building strong customer relationships
- Conduct regular check-in meetings with customers/project teams to provide status updates, address roadblocks and issues, and ensure overall projects remain on track for the data migration portion of projects
- Provide clear and detailed documentation of deployment steps, migration processes, test load results and recommended areas for testing
- Collaborate closely with project teams at Neocol to ensure overall solutions include data migration considerations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of data migration experience
- A background and experience in successfully completing Salesforce data migrations
- An understanding of Salesforce object architecture and its operation is crucial
- Project experience with Salesforce CPQ, Salesforce Sales Cloud and Salesforce Service Cloud
- Experience in performing multiple data migrations to Salesforce from various other platforms, to include Salesforce to Salesforce, Zuora, Netsuite, Intacct, Hub Spot, ZenDesk, or generic systems
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL scripting or other scripting language
- Ability to resolve logical problems and issues
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and work well within a team environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Use and familiarity of Github, JIRA, and LucidChart are a plus
- Salesforce Administration, App Builder, and Platform Developer I Certifications
- Familiarity with extracting and importing data to SQL from CSV, Excel, JSON, or other file formats is helpful
- Familiarity with any other ETL or IPAAS tool is also beneficial
- Familiarity with Salesforce Billing
- Salesforce CPQ and Platform Developer II Certifications
- Billing Badge, Advanced Billing Specialist Badge
- Experience with DBAmp and Dataloader a plus
