Description:
SUMMARY:
As an Intermediate Data Moodeler, you will play a pivotal role in the design, translation, and implementation of data modeling solutions. We are looking for a FHIR expert with a passion for standards improvement, process simplification, and HL7 v2 to FHIR mapping. You will collaborate closely with data architects and implementation teams and be a part of the community that makes healthcare truly interoperable.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst/Data Architect/ Data Modeler in the healthcare sector in North America.
- Extensive familiarity with the FHIR specification, the FHIR infrastructure, and the FHIR community as a whole.
- Proficiency in HL7 standards, particularly HL7 v2, and v3, is the core skill for this role.
- Experience with integration architecture, especially APIs and interoperability of FHIR APIs.
- Knowledge of FHIR standards and developing implementation guide (IG), and FHIR profiles.
- Experience with Spring, REST, SQL, JSON, and GIT.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer/ data science technical, HL7 FHIR Certified, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred Requirements:
- Expertise in working with EDI X12, CDA, CCD, and CQL.
- Experience with Kafka or ActiveMQ or other MQ systems, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- 2+ years of development experience and Java 11+.
- Strong understanding of Data formats and other Healthcare standards (ICD, SNOMED, CPT, LOINC).
- Familiarity with AWS and Azure.

Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the ongoing data architecture team discussions to ensure all formatting requirements and standards are met, documenting results and maintaining communication with internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to facilitate seamless integration of FHIR interfaces and promote interoperability.
- Working with the following HL7 interfaces/messages: ADT, ORM, ORU, RDE with understanding of the principles of asynchronous information exchange interface.
- Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation to ensure accurate and compliant data exchange through FHIR interfaces.
- Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in FHIR (R4, R5) and healthcare interoperability standards to recommend best practices and improvements
- Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in Netsuite on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked as billable and that the project management tool in Netsuite is properly and fully utilized.
- Tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and this is a major area of accountability
