Job Description Summary
Be part of a new way forward for road network management in Victoria. We’re looking for Data & Reporting Analyst to start Early-May, based out of our Dandenong South depot or Melbourne CBD
About the Role
We’re excited to have been awarded the Metropolitan Victorian Road Maintenance Contract – South Central Region.
Starting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government.

How you’ll contribute:
Reporting to the Business & Performance (B&P) Manager, the Data & Reporting Analyst contributes expertise in data capture, enrichment, analysis and visualisation to support safe, compliant and efficient delivery of the VRMC Services.

Specifically, the Data & Reporting Analyst is accountable for:

  • Working closely with the Planning and Delivery teams to optimise data collection processes – enhancing data accuracy and completeness while also improving operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Developing standard reports and dashboards in line with Contract requirements to track performance against KPIs
  • Working closely with the Contract Leadership Team to develops reports and dashboards supporting trend analysis of internal performance metrics relating to works completion, as well as safety, environmental and quality outcomes
  • Monitoring compliance with the Data Management Plan, and contributing to review and update of the Data Management Plan in line with Contract requirements
  • Preparing ad-hoc reporting as requested by Business & Performance Manager and broader team

This role can be based in either our Network Intelligence & Operations Centre (NIOC) in Melbourne CBD or in our VRMC Depot in South Dandenong. Full-time, part-time and flexible working options will be considered for this role.
About you:
You’ll have at least three years’ experience in a comparable role, ideally in directly relevant industries such as as civil engineering, road construction / maintenance, resources or heavy manufacturing.

A committed team player who drives for service excellence and continuous improvement, you’ll demonstrate:

  • Detailed knowledge of data lifecycle management and a relentless focus on complying with complying with legislative standards, contract specifications and internal data management processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a track record of championing data accuracy and completeness, influencing front line workers, supervisors and management personnel to embed an “data matters” culture
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Well-developed digital skills, including familiarity with AI / ML tools
  • High levels of self-motivation, exceptional time-management skills and a proven ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision

Formal qualifications (Cert IV) or higher in data analytics and / or an engineering or asset management related field are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.
