Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits

Responsibilities:

The Data Science Manager is a critical role for our UK Big Data & AI department that is responsible for maximising customer and market value from data through delivering scalable predictive ML & Gen AI assets that can deliver competitive advantage to the business. This would be achieved by establishing close partnerships with senior stakeholders across the VF business.

  • Functionally line manages a direct and indirect team of Data Scientists.
  • Partners with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities to build and deliver data driven modelling use cases that drive commercial or customer value.
  • Defines & owns the roadmap for the big data team within their area of accountability across business stakeholders, such as Consumer, Networks, Technology, Digital & Operations.
  • Manages and prioritises multiple backlogs with key stakeholders as part of cross-functional agile delivery teams (including Business, Technology and Big Data).
  • Measures the benefits & impacts of new and existing Big Data & AI capabilities. Also establishing best practices & standards for machine learning & Generative AI.
  • Builds a culture of innovation and delivers innovative use cases that deliver value.
  • Keeps track of industry trends for data driven modelling use cases, particularly telco trends
