Role:
Alcon is the global leader in innovative eye care, offering Surgical & Vision Care solutions. You will join the dynamically developing Alcon Digital Hub as a member of the Global Data Science Team. In the position of Trainee in Data Science, you will help solve business problems by delivering Data Science solutions to our Business Partners.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining Python code using Visual Studio Code or Jupyter Lab to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
- Leveraging Data Science frameworks within Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure) and managing version control repositories.
- Conducting data analysis, preparing datasets, and creating data visualizations using Python.
- Implementing descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive models to drive strategic decisions and optimize business outcomes.
- Exploring Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions to innovate our operational efficiencies.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or in other STEM field.
- Working knowledge of Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, sklearn) and Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure).
- Understanding of statistical inferences, traditional machine learning algorithms, time-series analysis, statistical simulation, and neural networks.
- Great at solving problems in a collaborative environment, with a passion for overcoming complex challenges.
- Written and spoken fluency in English.
