DATA SCIENTIST

Do you want to join a fast-growing international tech and manufacturing company that is in the forefront of reducing emissions? We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Scientist to join our team at our headquarters in Bergen, Norway.
Corvus Energy is a front-runner in digital solutions for the Maritime battery industry. Our team is responsible for utilizing (100TB) operational data from more than 400 vessels across the globe. We build models and algorithms for proactive monitoring, analytics, and advanced advisory services. Key technologies for our Data Scientists are Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Factory, Python, Grafana and various API integrations. Following a new, ambitious digital strategy, we’re strengthening the team to accelerate our journey.
You will join an enthusiastic team of 2 data scientists, a data engineer and a business developer + several consultants (full stack + analytics) working full time with us. In addition, you will have skilled colleagues in a wide range of disciplines related to all services you will be involved in. From our robotic factory lines, the Service Engineers working in the field to the researchers at our in-house battery testing facility. A domain expert is always nearby.

WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent.
  • 2 + years of experience in big data analytics and modeling.
  • Experience with relevant software tools within AI, analytics, and prediction modelling.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience using Python, R, Spark, SQL or similar.
  • Presentation and visualization of insight from data.
  • Experience with Grafana or similar dashboard tools.
  • Experience with product design focusing on customer experience is positive.
  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Norwegian understanding required.

Responsibilities:

  • Modelling and analysis using field (“raw”) data from operational battery solutions.
  • Development of algorithms and models used in proactive monitoring system.
  • Supporting value creation from various battery data sources company wide, including dashboard development, automated reporting, and exploring new services.
  • Product owner for selected services.
  • Design and User Experience related tasks when relevant.Partake in international research projects with Corvus’s extensive field data experience.
