JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for enabling analysis, modeling, and optimization through producing information products. Actively involved in the research and development efforts. Primary requirement is not related to traditional programming or systems analysis skills, but to the ability to create sophisticated, value-added analytic systems that support revenue generation, risk management, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, portfolio management, and research. These systems must overcome issues of complex data (e.g., VLDB, multi-structured, big data, etc.) as well as deployment of advanced techniques (e.g., machine learning, text mining, statistical analysis, etc.) to deliver insights. This role often possesses a degree in hard science or another heavy quantitative business or social discipline. Able to work independently on complex projects.

    We are looking for a Data Scientist to support the Model Development Executive with Governance and Customer Support activities associated with (AI) Model Development.
    The associate in Data Science for Technology, Risk, and Operations (DSTRO) within Global Risk Analytics (GRA) will support our Global Technology, Global Operations, Global Strategy & Enterprise Platform and Global Human Resources Model Development Stakeholders with Model Development and Model Compliance activities.
    A focus will be on guiding the Model Developers to adhere to their respective Model Development Procedures and familiarize them with the various (AI) Model Policies and document requirements associated with the complex Model Validation Process.
    In addition, this role will monitor a set of model development/performance risk metrics and enhance executive reporting to convey the status on a bi-weekly basis. As a senior member of the team this individual will also be responsible for documenting and enhancing our operational processes to lean them out and deliver a higher quality product (operational excellence).
    This is NOT a people management role. Rather, this is an individual leadership role where the individual needs to work across various teams and be comfortable and capable of interacting with executives on a regular basis.

This role reports to the leader of the DSTRO Model Development Executive Support function.

  • Model Validation or similar Experience
  • AI Model Risk identification and mitigation experience
  • Familiarity with AI Model techniques
  • Experience is developing onboarding/model validation processes
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable talking to executives
  • Degree in Math, Data Science or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in understanding/communicating and enhancing complex processes
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience in building and/or understanding Model Conceptual Soundness concepts
  • Experience in building trusting relationships with our various customers

  • Building trusting and supportive relationships with key stakeholders in Global Technology, Global Operations, Global Risk Analytics and Model Risk Management
  • Facilitating the execution of data science projects in the appropriate environment
  • Develop expertise in BofA model governance and maintain the Model Development executives Model Development Procedures
  • Enhancing bi-weekly Model Risk executive reports
