Description:
About the role
The position of Data Scientist exists within the Data team to assist with building statistical models like Marketing Mix Models (MMM) and predictive models using statistical techniques. The role of the Data Scientist is in place to support the collection, organising and interpreting of quantifiable data, and the production & delivery of data infrastructure, analysis, visualization, and analysis of data for internal and external projects. It also helps with ad-hoc development of capability (e.g. new product development) as needed.
The primary purpose of the role is to support the Head of Data Science with developing and maintaining statistical models and data infrastructure as well as developing and streamlining new agency products. Depending on the project, this could include creating and maintaining API connections with advertising and analysis platforms, designing and implementing data storage and analysis infrastructure, and assisting with the development of modelling code for a variety of Data Science products.
The Data Scientist will work independently on tasks assigned with the support of the Head of Data Science. The tasks are associated with data collection, statistical model build, simulation, data infrastructure development, and maintenance, automation, and analysis product development. The Data Scientist has a responsibility to review, analyse and develop products, and processes to improve both internal agency products and workflow and client-facing products.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Econometrics, Computer Science or Mathematics
- Two plus years of work experience in data analytics/data consulting (in a commercial environment would be preferred)
- Prefer working knowledge and experience in Marketing Mix Modelling / Econometric modelling/ Attribution in the field of marketing analytics.
- Good knowledge of Marketing/ Adtech platforms like Google, Meta, Adobe, Salesforce and similar platforms.
- Statistical / Analytical Mindset
- Attention to detail
- Ability to train and mentor junior analysts and/or data scientists
- Strong knowledge of programming development and data manipulation languages including R, R Shiny, Python, SQL (JavaScript, HTML is a nice to have)
- Strong data science background in statistics/mathematics/data science/computer programming
