Would you be our new
Data Scientist
and join our Data & Analytics organization?
In this role you will be a part of our commercial operations squad, which is responsible of all analytics regarding our consumer and corporate customers. This team serves all business functions inside Posti, including mail, parcels, warehousing and freight. The goal is to create a data & analytics-foundation that serves the business, operational needs and our consumer customers.
The team is responsible for building a new data & analytics platform on top of AWS with state-of-the-art tech. This role offers a unique opportunity to observe how a large international delivery and fulfillment company operates, and how it utilizes data in its operations. We have massive amounts of data for you to crunch. Our goal is to create a solution that provides real-time data to support business decision-making, analytics and operations. Some of the solutions we develop could be used by up to 2 million customers.
We have Data Engineers, Data Scientists and BI-Analysts working in our data-organization at Posti. This structure will ensure that you get the support that you need, whether it involves expertise in the business domain or peer-reviewing by another Data Scientist. Together we have an essential role in implementing Posti’s strategy and building a world-class customer experience.

Could this be you?

• Enthusiastic about building analytics capabilities for Posti’s parcel and postal consumers.
• Eager to work on massive data and be part of meaningful work that will impact millions of users, including your friends/families and whoever uses Posti services.
• Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining analytics solutions (e.g. regression, classification, forecasting/time series analysis, churn prediction, segmentation, optimization, simulation).
• Expertise in Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn etc.), Spark (Pyspark), Databricks, and AWS cloud services (S3, EC2, ECR, Sagemaker).
• Experience in cloud technologies (e.g. Spark&Pyspark, Databricks, and AWS cloud services S3, EC2, ECR, Sagemaker), MLOPs and Kubernetes.
• Fluent language skills in English (Finnish considered as a plus).
• A master’s degree or Ph.D in statistics, computer science, mathematics, operational research, economics or similar is considered as an advantage.

You enjoy interacting with stakeholders and team members, and you possess strong data science expertise along with solid business acumen, understanding what truly adds value to the business.
