Description:

Our team supporting a U.S. federal civilian agency is looking for Data Specialist / Analyst.
This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in the United States and must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder (no 1099s or W2 hourly, no exceptions).
The right candidate will have 5 years of relevant experience.

JOB SUMMARY

This is a great remote work opportunity for a Data Specialist to join a close-knit team supporting a civilian U.S. Federal Government Agency.
The Data Specialist plays a crucial role in the strategic modernization initiative of a federal agency, aiming to overhaul its IT Service Management (ITSM) through the implementation of ServiceNow’s Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform. As part of a team embracing hybrid Agile development projects and a DevSecOps methodology, the Data Specialist is tasked with harnessing data to illuminate the path forward. Through meticulous data gathering, analysis, and interpretation related to the ServiceNow platform’s deployment and operation, this role provides actionable insights that shape the project’s direction, efficiency, and effectiveness. The Data Specialist ensures that decision-makers have access to reliable, timely, and clear data insights, enabling informed choices that drive the modernization effort towards achieving best practices, process optimization, and continual service improvement within the agency.
This is a fulltime salaried position, no 1099s or W2 hourly. U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required, no exceptions. You must pass a public trust background investigation.
Work is remote; however, team members must live full time in the United States, no exceptions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum of five plus (5+) years of similar and highly relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. (Add’l experience may be substituted for degree.)
  • Strong analytical skills, with a knack for identifying patterns, drawing conclusions, and providing actionable insights from data sets.
  • Experience in managing data quality, with a keen eye for accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work well in a team environment and able to work independently.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder, no exceptions, residing in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background Investigation.

Desired:

  • ITIL v3 or v4 certification.
  • ServiceNow certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Experience w/Federal Government IT.
  • Reside in a U.S. HUBZone: HUBZone Map (sba.gov)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive data gathering and analysis pertaining to the usage, performance, and outcomes of the ServiceNow platform within the agency, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards within ServiceNow, ensuring the key metrics and insights are accessible, understandable, and actionable for project stakeholders.
  • Ensure the integrity, consistency, and reliability of data within the ServiceNow system by implementing rigorous data quality checks, addressing discrepancies, and advocating for best practices in data management.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, project management, and operational teams to understand data needs, gather requirements, and deliver bespoke analytical insights that support project objectives.
  • Identify, document, and communicate data-related issues, risks, and recommendations to project leaders, contributing to the overall strategy and execution of the modernization initiative.
  • Stay abreast of developments in data analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices, particularly within the context of ServiceNow and IT service management, to continuously enhance the value of data insights provided.
