Description:

You will be expected to perform the following tasks and responsibilities in a manner consistent with CBA’s Values and People Capabilities.

  • Core Responsibilities
  • Ensure technology solutions are aligned with the Groups enterprise architecture
  • Complete project work stream deliverables including quality control/sign off for area of accountability.
  • Workshop business and data requirements with key stakeholders.
  • Provide support in tasks related to business and data analysis.
  • Convert business needs into functional designs using knowledge of data warehousing and Big Data architecture and processes.
  • Identify project delivery issues and risks, assist with mitigation strategies, and escalate where necessary.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and change management to identify impacts to business processes and system processes as a result of application changes.
  • Provide support and participate in testing activities including unit testing, BA testing and system testing ensuring adequate project coverage.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and change management to identify impacts to business processes as a result of system or application changes.
  • Identify project delivery issues and risks, assist with mitigation strategies, and escalate where necessary.
  • Effectively prioritise work and deliverables according to specified timeframes.
  • Analyse and document business/functional processes and requirements using standard analysis methodologies and tools.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of solution delivery (SDLC) tools, processes and methodologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Bank policies and external regulatory requirements.

  • Stakeholder management – advanced ability and extensive experience managing large and varied stakeholder groups across levels, and influencing group-wide change

  • Leadership – advanced ability influencing varied stakeholder groups, and inspiring large, diverse group of data and analytics professionals around a vision and a unified way to consume data
  • Communication – expert oral and written communication skills with ability to lead discussions with a varied stakeholder across levels
  • Problem solving – advanced conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to analyse complex information for key insights and present as meaningful information to senior management

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience gained in a large and complex enterprise environment ideally within financial services, Telecommunications, Utility or similar large enterprise.
  • Experience working in medium to large projects (~400k+)
  • Experience in both Data loads requirements as well as reporting and extract requirements.
  • Data Analysis Skills – looking into large amounts of data to analyse, map, and assess for impacts.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL
  • Data Warehousing experience.
  • The Ability to work in an AGILE environment. Experience in an Agile environment is highly regarded.
  • Teradata skills/knowledge.
  • Medium Level SQL Experience – Ability to read scripts and write SQL in order to analyse data.
  • Strong communications skills, able to bridge the gap between business (product manager, business BA.) and technical teams.
  • Experience with reporting solutions such as Tableau.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • A degree in IT or business tertiary qualifications or a related discipline

Desirable:

  • Specialties: Data warehousing, Big Data, ETL Tooling, CI/CD, Analytics, AI, Machine Learning, AWS / Cloud Services
  • Experience using Ab Initio Frameworks
  • Work experience in banking industry, preferred
  • Recognised industry certifications
