EDFR is seeking a Senior Data Visualization Engineer with a passion for leading the design, development and delivery of innovative cloud data visualization solutions while working on team-based projects. As a Senior Data Visualization Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that enable data-driven decision-making across our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design scalable solutions, and ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of visually appealing data visualizations. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership and project management expertise to drive successful project delivery.
Our current stack includes Redshift, RDS, Glue, Lambdas, S3, the AWS developer tools, and other AWS technologies. Using Tableau, your role will be key in not just the downstream visualization output but also in upstream stages of the entire process.
You tinker, explore and regularly read to stay in touch with the development community and are curious about discovering ways to improve quality, reusability, extensibility, and consistency. You are multi-faceted with a great mix of technical and interpersonal skills, which enables you to succeed in highly collaborative and agile work environments.
1 Year Limited Term Assignment

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop interactive and visually appealing data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Tableau.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective visualizations that provide actionable insights.
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure data availability, accuracy, and integrity for visualization purposes.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from various sources, including AWS databases and data warehouses.
  • Implement best practices for data visualization, ensuring adherence to design principles, usability guidelines, and accessibility standards.
  • Provide technical leadership to members of the team, guiding them in best practices for data visualization and Tableau usage.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data visualization tools, techniques, and technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance the visualization capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and deliver effective visualization solutions.
  • Perform data quality assessments and ensure data accuracy and consistency in visualizations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to optimize data infrastructure and ensure efficient data retrieval and processing for visualization purposes.
  • Developing and improving Tableau dashboards and KPIs.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and developers to gather all necessary information and specifications for successful implementation.
  • Help mentor and educate your teammates (and vice versa) to expand everyone’s skillsets.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to view video display terminal images < 18” away from face for extended periods of
  • time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and telephone.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds.
    This role’s annual base salary range is between $102,500 and $171,000.
