Description:
Working as part of our multi-award winning Business Intelligence Team, our Data Team are responsible for creating and maintaining the Trust’s Data Warehouse which allows the Analytical Team to provide intelligence and insight to facilitate planning and delivery of our acute services. The Data Team have recently completed project to redevelop the Data Warehouse, so this jobholder will be joining at a very exciting time contributing to further developments. The Data Warehouse Developer will work to develop, modify and maintain data processing scripts, ensure the successful running of the data warehouse and be involved in submitting and maintaining national submissions.
You will work to develop, modify and maintain data processing in a role whose main duties included:
- To provide expertise in collecting, integrating, and optimising data using SQL and other database technologies where appropriate.
- To design and implement data flows using SQL Integration Services (SSIS) enabling the automated update of key datasets.
- To work in support of analysts and users of the data warehouse to ensure that access and performance are assured and that changes are managed to meet their requirements.
- To work with highly sensitive patient data, ensuring appropriate steps are taken at all times to comply with confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- To work with data warehouse managers in agreeing task priorities and to resolve any clashes in deadlines.
- To work to develop an expert understanding in the Trusts datasets, their significance to the organisation and how their use could be extended.
- To have a good understanding of the importance of national submissions, such as PLICS, SUS, MSDS etc and keep up to date with any national requirements.
- To be an active participant in team and project meetings and promote ideas and approaches that could be applied.
