The opportunity
As a Database Administrator, your role is to provide primary support for production and non-production Microsoft DB products.

What you’ll be doing day-today

  • Provide ongoing operational support for the Vocus Databases platforms and related systems.
  • Maintain the integrity, availability, reliability, performance, optimisation, capacity and recoverability of Vocus Databases.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Vocus disaster readiness capacity and procedures.
  • Support and assist solution architects, developers and related staff in appropriate and optimised methods to create, access and maintain scalable structured data.
  • Assist and knowledge between DBA team.

What you’ll bring to the role

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Good knowledge and experience in database administration in a corporate environment with Microsoft SQL Servers, including performance tuning, disaster recovery provisioning and integration with other applications.
  • Good knowledge and experience in scripting including PowerShell and etc
  • Good knowledge in enterprise database migration cross platform.
  • Good understanding of Customer Information Security.
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Other DB technology on Linux with be an advantage.

  • Consults and shares information with team and seeks input from others, ensures others are kept informed.
  • Ability to follow and refine established procedures
  • Adhere to change control procedures.
  • Produce documentation of an acceptable standard.
  • Listens to differing ideas to develop an understanding of the issues, presents persuasive counterarguments.
  • Must be willing to do after hours and on-call work as required.
