Description:

US Citizenship and the ability to pass a Federal government clearance are required for this position.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5 years direct/related experience in database administration/management
  • Extensive hands-on relational database management (RDMS) system experience.
  • Experience performing analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
  • Experience coordinating and developing database backup, storage, and replication schemes across the customers’ enterprise. Develop policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team first attitude
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical and other project-related information
  • Demonstrated capacity to work closely with clients/end users
  • Engagement experiences with senior-level Stakeholders, as well as with End-Users.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineer (DBE)s. Direct the installation of database management systems, databases, tables and views. Direct the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies
  • Experience creating database structures and interfaces to meet customers’ requirements; develop, administers, maintains, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database and performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline; four (4) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the monitoring, administering, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure, and reloading data into a database
  • Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases
  • Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements
  • Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database
  • Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes
