Our Data Communication division has a rare career opportunity for the right candidate who is looking to progress and grow their career at our new Divisional Office in Port Kells, Langley. As the Datacom Technical Inside Sales, you will be immersed in the product portfolio to broaden or acquire new knowledge and gain valuable experience; to grow as a Specialist and as a Business Leader. WHAT ARE THE KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES?

  • Customer Service. You will receive a high level of quote requests, and inquiries from customers therefore having the ability to engage and build relationships in a meaningful and professional manner is vital.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration. You will be collaborating with vendors, manufacturers, and our internal staff at the Branch to provide expertise or for order processing.
  • Solution-Oriented. You will be communicating with customers to determine appropriate solutions to troubleshooting, pricing, and product mix. This also includes vendor documentation and certifications.
  • Technical Expertise. Demonstrated Data Communication knowledge and order processing through our ERP system (P21).

  • Quotations. Manage and prioritizes customer inquiries communications in a timely manner.
  • Branch Support. Assist branch staff with details on products, pricing, and any other needs in order for them to best assist customers.
  • Follow-Up. Conducts customer follow-up on quoted projects or assists Business Developers and Account Managers as required to ensure the products and services are accurately commissioned. Keeps track of entered orders to ensure delivery timelines are met and discusses with customers as necessary.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The DataCom Technical Inside Sales is responsible for building positive relationships with both internal and external customers by generating accurate quotations and sales orders. The DataCom Technical Inside Sales works closely with Business Developers and Account Managers to provide excellent customer service, prevent potential issues, and monitor ongoing projects.
Position Type/Schedule: This is a full-time position onsite, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THIS ROLE?

  • Diploma in an applicable technical specialty or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of customer service experience
  • Technical expertise in the products and services provided by E.B. Horsman & Son’s datacomm division
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office Suite, and the ability to learn new technical software programs
  • Can provide fast, efficient, and knowledgeable service to customers by interpreting their needs into EBH terminology
  • Can foster strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and fellow EBH staff
