Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) offers career-training programs in numerous technical, industrial and medical fields at a reasonable cost, going so far as to even waive tuition for certain eligible students. Located in Richlands, Virginia, SWCC offers associate’s degrees in such fields as business, education, general studies, liberal arts and science. These degrees are primarily intended for students who wish to transfer to a four-year university. SWCC also has associate degrees that feature programs intended to lead directly to a career in fields such as Nursing, Radiography and Administration of Justice.
Southwest Virginia Community College seeks applicants for the position of the Dean of Student Success and Title IX Coordinator. The Dean of Student Success and Title IX Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering an environment conducive to student achievement, retention, and development. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for student advocacy and a commitment to enhancing the overall student experience. The Dean oversees various departments crucial to student success, including admissions, accessibility services, enrollment management, recruiting, financial aid, student success programs, retention initiatives, academic advising, and student engagement.

KSA’S/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in student affairs, admissions, or related areas within higher education.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of developing and implementing innovative student success initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of and experience in fostering an inclusive campus environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and to resolve conflict.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations governing admissions, financial aid, student services, and Title IX in higher education.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the community college, with a passion for serving diverse student populations.
