Market Lane Coffee is looking for a new addition to our delivery driver team! This role is a casual, 3 days a week position to start out with, where you get to deliver coffee to our shops, wholesale customers and the warehouse roastery.

Position Description:

The Delivery driver for Market Lane is an important position with multiple responsibilities across various locations around Melbourne. All our shops and our wholesale customers rely on the delivery driver to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner. Day to day, this person will interact with our own staff, but also with our wholesale customers. As such, a high level of customer service, problem solving and flexibility is required.

  • 3 days a week / casual employment, approximately 20 - 25 hours per week.
  • Must be available to work on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - this is unfortunately not flexible.

This role responds directly to the Production Manager, with the Office Manager, Wholesale Manager and management making ad hoc delivery requests from time to time.

Specific Tasks:
Delivering coffee and stock to each of our Market Lane Coffee shops around Melbourne, delivering coffee and stock to our wholesale customers across Melbourne and logistical partners.
You will also be responsible for unpacking and maintaining the cleanliness of the work van after each run. Other delivery tasks may include collecting and delivering equipment, visiting suppliers, and moving stock or coffee between stores.

This Job Requires:

  • A mature person with excellent communication skills that is capable of exceptional, tailored customer service support.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, including the ability to manage a variable workload and changing priorities.
  • A valid drivers licence.
  • Ability to work within and create a collaborative workplace culture that supports the development of ideas and innovative solutions.
  • An ability to self direct with excellent time management, and comfort working independently and autonomously.
  • Logistical management skills that serve to solve problems creatively, and on the fly.

Additional Favourable Attributes

  • Exceptional knowledge of coffee
  • A background in warehouse work ( walkie stacker use) and or customer service
  • Experience teaching/training coffee skills
  • A great palate for tasting and talking about coffee flavours
  • Knowledge of coffee machinery (espresso machines and grinders)
  • A love of, and passion for, delicious things
