DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Extensive Systems Administration experience
  • Experience with the following technologies:
  • Building Windows Servers (x64)
  • Administer Active Directory (Security, Group Policy, Health monitoring)
  • Advanced troubleshooting techniques with Windows Server OS and Active Directory.
  • Vmware\HyperV\Nutanix AHV Virtualisation skills
  • Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
  • Experience working with Storage systems and technologies
  • Documentation skills
  • Backup Solutions (Rubrik or similar)
  • Suitable Scripting languages for task automation (PowerShell, Python, JSON)
  • Sound technical understanding of TCP/IP protocol, switching, routing, load balancing, DHCP, VPN’s etc
  • Deep technical understanding of DNS would be desirable
  • Linux Skills (in particular RedHat) would also be desirable
  • Server hardware platforms (UCS, Nutanix etc)
  • Relevant experience in Azure IaaS/PaaS is highly regarded
  • Relevant certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Cisco etc is highly regarded

Responsibilities:

A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE

The Delivery Engineer Server will be working within the Global Planning and Delivery team and will report to the IT Delivery Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for working alongside a global team of Engineers, Team Leaders, Architects, Project Managers, Business members and stakeholders to install and deliver new technologies to the Services Organization in order to support ongoing business initiatives.

SOME OF YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Working with other members of the Delivery Team to achieve on-time delivery of Server product technology services to our internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for the successful transition of solutions into the BAU support team
  • Using project methodology processes to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Producing stakeholder reports to senior management and the Technology Delivery and Planning PMO
  • Collaboration with solution architects to deliver best practice design
  • Building new Windows servers (using automation or manually)
  • Uplifting and/or deployment of server hardware, virtual Infrastructure (VMware, HyperV and Nutanix AHV)
  • Hyperconverged Server Infrastructure (Nutanix and Cisco UCS)
  • Migration of data and applications between servers
  • Ensure ongoing supportability of environments through documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Building pro-active and constructive professional relationships with other teams and departments
  • When required, perform activities after hours

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE ROLE?

You will demonstrate previous experience as a Systems administration and have a clear passion for the role.

OTHER KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Create and run a Server system management practice and routine that aligns with corporate IT policies and procedures. Administer the systems when required.
  • Significant experience and comfort installing, operating and recovering server operating systems
  • Significant experience in managing and supporting Windows based application servers, repository management, connectivity, Intel architecture, orchestration toolsets, virtualization using VMWare
  • Understanding of load balancing technology, preferred experience with Citrix Netscalers
  • Able to work with both technical and those with limited understanding of technical concepts
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage multiple change work streams, often across many technologies
  • Strong accountability and results-oriented, with ability to set priorities independently, provide follow-through, and meet objectives
  • Understanding of ITIL v3 processes and functions
