JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Mars Food & Nutrition North America Brand Business partner leads critical deliverables within the scope of portfolio strategy and value creation plans across strategic cells, deployment of innovation strategy including financial thresholds, innovation business case assessment and partnering for strategically relevant, disruptive business cases, and advertising resource allocation and budget control. The Brand Business partner will contribute to educating and upskilling marketing stakeholders in financial business acumen and in utilizing innovation self-service tools. The BP will share and leverage best-practices through a community of experts across Global Food & Nutrition.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong analytical capabilities and in-depth understanding of business/financial interrelationships between sales strategies, pricing, volumes, and cost structure. Understanding of basic internal financial measures such as Cash and Earnings.
  • Cost Accounting and Budget Management - understanding of Mars, Incorporated internal cost structures and practices. Understand the relationship between different costs and cost drivers. Ability to drive cross-functional teams to deliver cost reduction programs.
  • Analysis and Evaluation of Business Activities - Advanced expertise in the areas of Competitor Analysis and Benchmarking, Trend Analysis/Modeling and Evaluation, and Scorecarding/Metrics.
  • Statutory Accounting - The knowledge and application of Mars, Incorporated Accounting Policies and Principles, U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, applicable local government regulations, and Mars, Incorporated transaction processing systems to meet business reporting requirements to provide timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
  • Financial Control - The knowledge and application of business processes, internal control concepts and practices, and auditing techniques to ensure cost effective protection of business assets and approval of business activities at the appropriate level in the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • S&F business partner for Bens Original and Seeds of Change brands – as such supporting the definition of brand strategy and achieving targets set within operational plan and integrated value creation plan
  • Establish and drive digital tools/reporting and a value creation mindset within the North American Marketing organization
  • Support portfolio assessments and other ad-hoc brand activities via financial evaluation and recommendations to foster healthy portfolio of products
  • Lead financial modeling of innovation, steering choices to ensure viable solutions, and support post implementation and launch reviews
  • Use of Nielsen and alternative data for new product launch size of the prize simulations
  • Manage A&CP and Franchise Overheads budgets to help drive appropriate allocation of resources
