  • Expertise in supporting people living with dementia
  • Experience in Australian residential aged care and or community aged care
  • High level of negotiation, communication and relationship building skills
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Empathy and patience
  • Relevant qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care or Mental Health highly desirable

ABOUT THE ROLE

A rewarding opportunity for a passionate Dementia professional to join the Dementia Centre team at HammondCare on a Fixed Term Full-Time Contract until June 2026 at our Perth Office.
Are you ready to drive change, combine caring, creativity and allied health and/or clinical skills to solve problems? Join the Dementia Support Australia Team to deliver Australian Government funded dementia behaviour support services. Apply your expertise in assessment and biopsychosocial approaches, implement practical, innovative and non-pharmacological strategies to prevent, minimise or respond to changes in behaviour related to dementia, anywhere in Australia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide dementia-specific behaviour management recommendations over the phone, via live chat and through phone support case management.
  • Provide advice to reduce the impact of behaviours on people living with dementia, their carers and staff.
  • Work closely with colleagues and teams to provide information and data which reports statistics and information collected regarding calls and live chat.
  • Effectively manage customer complaints or challenging situations as they arise, with early notification to the Team Leader when necessary.
  • Implement service improvement solutions across the phone and live chat team consistently and efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work across a variety of shifts throughout the week
