An opportunity has become available for a Dental Assistant Grade 1 to join the Oral Health team in a Permanent Full time role located at the Dental Health Clinic in Blue Mountains Hospital.
This exciting role will see you assist Dental Officers, Dental Prosthetists and Dental Therapists in clinical situations, as well as assist with the infection control practices of the clinic. Your role participates in oral health promotion and education activities as required.
The Dental Assistant is fast paced and requires you to greet and assist people on reception, as required, inform patients of rescheduling or cancellation of appointments as appropriate and promote the role and image of Oral Health Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated recent and adequate experience in chair side dental assisting with or without certificate III in dental assisting
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effective and efficient infection prevention and control procedures in all aspects of Dental Assisting
  • Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in dental charting
  • Effective communication written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work in a large, multidiscipline team environment
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills
  • Data entry experience and skills
