Description:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Dental Nurse to join our Maxillofacial Department full time. We are a very busy department and we are looking for reliable individuals who are willing to work as part of a team of dental nurses but also within a wider disciplinary team.
You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and pleasant disposition and also have knowledge of a range of dental procedures.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
The National Certificate for Dental Nurses/NVQ Oral Health Care Dental Nursing Level 3 and
Registration with The General Dental Council is essential.
To provide high standards of patient care at all times.
Able to work on own initiative.
Prepare clinic for surgery and reviews, with the correct investigations, blood results, scans, x-rays and patient models correctly.
Assists in supervising and teaching new members of staff within the department.
Preparation of patients, instrumentation and surgeries for clinical surgical work, maintaining high standards of cross infection, cleaning of surgeries and sterilisation of equipment.
Welcome and prepare patients for treatment.
Document treatment inforParticipate in health education and health promotion. Give patients post – operative treatment instructions.
Participate in extending skills of clinical practice when appropriate taking intra – oral radiographs skills, assist with sedation of patients.
