SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Supervisor or Manager, performs a variety of clinical and clerical tasks in support of clinical care activities in a dental environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

THE LISTED BASE PAY RANGE IS A GOOD FAITH REPRESENTATION OF CURRENT POTENTIAL BASE PAY FOR A SUCCESSFUL FULL TIME APPLICANT. IT MAY BE MODIFIED IN THE FUTURE AND ELIGIBLE FOR ADDITIONAL PAY COMPONENTS. PAY IS DETERMINED BY FACTORS INCLUDING EXPERIENCE, RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS, SPECIALTY, INTERNAL EQUITY, LOCATION, AND CONTRACTS.

Responsibilities:

  • Sterilization and Maintenance. Implements standard infection prevention measures, such as hand hygiene and surface decontamination, in accordance with Health System infection prevention policy. Maximizes room utilization through inventory, stocking, cleaning of operatories, and daily preparation of dental units.
  • Patient Care. Performs basic dental laboratory procedures such as model pouring for dentures and partials. Performs other dental assisting tasks when educated and with the appropriate level of supervision.
  • Scheduling and Communication. Contacts patients to schedule/reschedule patient appointments. Maintains accurate demographic information in the scheduling system. Enters patient data into the electronic medical record. Reviews discharge instructions with patient as prepared by provider.
