Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct routine dental examinations, including taking X-rays and reviewing patient medical history.
2. Diagnose and treat oral diseases, injuries, and abnormalities.
3. Perform essential dental procedures like fillings, extractions, cleanings, and root canals.
4. Create treatment plans and explain procedures to patients, ensuring they understand their oral health needs and potential treatment options.
5. Administer anesthetics to manage pain during procedures and maintain patient comfort.
6. Collaborate with dental specialists, such as orthodontists and periodontists, to provide comprehensive dental care.
7. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment care guidelines.
8. Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
9. Keep accurate patient records and maintain confidentiality of patients’ personal information.
10. Stay up-to-date with advances in dentistry and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
2. Board certification and state license to practice as a General Dentist.
3. Proficiency in performing various dental procedures, such as fillings and extractions.
4. Strong knowledge of oral diseases, abnormalities, and treatment options.
5. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
6. Ability to use dental software and electronic health records for accurate record-keeping.
7. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
8. Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
9. Compassionate demeanor and ability to alleviate patient’s dental anxiety.
10. Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
