Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage task allocation and provide directional support as appropriate.
  • Review the work performed by the team relating to due diligence and ongoing monitoring activities and/or directly handle the more complex client relationships.
  • Develop and retain strong performing staff, manage career and development progression.
  • Actively manage direct reports, provide for a positive working atmosphere.
  • Provide on-going feedback and coach staff to improve, individual and team performance.
  • Delegate effectively, set clear target objectives, and celebrate team /departmental achievements.
  • Identify areas of risk during control reviews.
  • Build Strong relationships with Clients and have the knowledge and ability to explain the regulatory drivers behind these requirements.
  • Support team in determining appropriate resolutions to new regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor, report, define and document critical internal control processes.
  • Formulate corrective actions, where applicable, to resolve identified exceptions.
  • Coordinate internal and external projects in an efficient and thorough manner.
  • Prepare and review documentation for regulators and external auditors.
  • Support Team on questions from clients, regulators, external auditors and/or BBH internal departments. Communicate clearly with business area contacts as well as other areas of the Bank.
  • Maintain effective working relationships at relevant levels with other departments.
  • Escalate within the team significant audit issues, set direction/communicate proposed manner of resolution of audit issues and concerns that have a significant impact.
  • Develop and maintain peer relationships to share best practices.
  • Be an active member in implementing the control framework regarding Depositary Oversight obligations.
  • Develop and execute the Depositary Bank Continuous Oversight & Monitoring Process. This includes the development & execution of an inventory of tasks, inputs & sources, frequency of reviews, monitoring thresholds and follow-up parameters, documentation standards and reporting requirements, and escalation procedures.
  • Ensure the completeness of the Fund specific reviews in line with the agreed annual schedule - review the implementation of the operating models making sure that appropriate controls are in place and issues are identified and escalated timely and appropriately.

Qualifications:

  1. Education level and/ or experience
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting
  • 4 to 5 years’ experience working within the alternative funds industry or relevant business line experience.
  1. Knowledge and skills
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with ability to present complex and sensitive issues.
  • Proven technical skills in alternatives and regulation.
  • Advanced knowledge in European and local regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrates Microsoft Office skills (with emphasis placed on Excel proficiency).
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Ability to identify, escalate and resolve a problem.
  • Ability to communicate professionally through effective verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
