Description:
The NTU University Advancement Office (UAO) supports the University’s giving mission by fostering meaningful relationships and strategic partnerships with philanthropists, alumni, business community partners, corporations, foundations, and friends that result in goodwill and philanthropy towards education and research that underpin a shared sustainable future.
As Deputy Director at NTU’s University Advancement Office, you will play a pivotal role in securing transformational philanthropic contributions that significantly impact our institution’s strategic priorities. You will lead efforts to cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift donors. This position demands a dynamic individual with exceptional relationship-building skills, strategic acumen, and a deep understanding of philanthropy within the higher education sector.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the fundraising goals of the University by working with NTU’s Senior Management team, faculty and colleagues to cultivate, engage and solicit from a portfolio of donors and prospective donors effectively
- Maintain key relations with a portfolio of donors and prospective donors - with the view to match their giving interests, motivations and capacity with the University’s funding priorities and needs.
- Develop comprehensive fundraising plans for key fundraising initiatives, including capital campaigns, academic program enhancements, research initiatives, and other strategic initiatives.
- Lead and facilitate gift structuring to optimise donor’s gift purpose
- Manage the process of closing the gifts
- Facilitate meaningful engagement opportunities for donors, including campus visits, meetings with faculty and students, special events, and other activities designed to deepen their connection to the University.
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to junior fundraisers in their fundraising efforts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- University Degree in any discipline.
- Proven fundraising experience with a good track record of management expertise, preferably in a higher education sector; or an equivalent of relevant experience of about 12 years.
- A successful track record in cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
- Experience in Not-For-Profit fundraising with an ability to achieve monthly activity targets as a key metric of performance. Candidates with appropriate business development/consultative sales experience may also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex and diverse relationships and the proven ability to operate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to liaise, consult and negotiate confidently and professionally with donors, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional written communication skills with extensive experience in developing business cases, proposals and presentations.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-moving team environment.
- Sound acumen and strong professional presence as well as a collegial work style that promotes teamwork, creativity and open communication.
