Description:
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Expert knowledge of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, lock-out/tag-out and facility policies and procedures.
- Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in Nuclear Operations and implementation of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in conduct of operations and quality assurance programs.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels.
- Expert knowledge and proven experience in Facility Management, to include: Maintenance, Engineering, Safety Basis, Operations, Radiation Protection, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene.
- Proven leadership and management ability. Understands and is committed to continuous improvement process and leadership principles. Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment, to develop mutual trust and teamwork, and to facilitate employee self-development.
Education Required: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 12 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
DOE O 426.2: Operations Management requires a Bachelor of Science in engineering or related science, 3 years job-related experience and 2 years nuclear experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to negotiate with customers or management, or attempting to influence senior-level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
- In-depth knowledge of the Laboratory’s organizational structure and objectives.
Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Manager position at Los Alamos National Laboratory is responsible for managing and maintaining safe, secure, and compliant work environments at facilities enabling efficient and effective mission execution. The Manager provides support to the FOD over areas of Operations and Management of facilities at TA-55
Manager authorizes and/or manages all operational activities including safety basis; health, safety and environmental management; security; quality assurance and work control; engineering; maintenance; and budgets.
